A selection of chronologically sequenced entries from Larry Racioppo’s notebooks—beginning with the earliest glimmer of what would become his book, HERE DOWN ON DARK EARTH—offers a view into the project’s evolution from concept to creation. These notes follow Larry as he works to bring together text and images, shape the layout, and search for a publisher.
B (or Barbara) is Larry’s wife, Barbara Cannizzaro, whose editing helped shape the manuscript. Francesca is his stepdaughter, Francesca Richer, a gifted book designer who contributed significantly to the look and feel of the book. Together, these entries offer an inside look at the messy, collaborative, and deeply personal process behind HERE DOWN ON DARK EARTH, which releases tomorrow, April 15.
