Chekhov and the Moscow Art Theatre

The Moscow Art Theatre (MXAT) was the cradle of Stanislavski's method, and of Anton Chekhov's plays. Yuri zavadski was the first Russian director to come fro Moscow to direct American actors. In the film, Zavadski is seen directing American actors in scenes from The Cherry Orchard, set in the context of the Moscow Art Theatre and the countryside of old Russia.
