Manuscript Submission
Fordham University Press publishes scholarly books in the humanities and social sciences, as well as trade books of interest to the general public. Its list emphasizes philosophy, religion, theology, literature, history, and media studies, and books of both scholarly and general appeal about New York City and the Hudson Valley. The Press also publishes the annual winner of the Poets Out Loud contest; for submission visit Poets Out Loud. The Press does not publish fiction.
The Press welcomes book proposals in the fields in which we generally publish.
Proposals should be sent as hard copy to the following address, directed to the appropriate person(see below). We do not accept submissions via e-mail.

We recommend that proposals include the following:
- a cover letter of two to four pages outlining the book's argument and its contribution to its field
- a current curriculum vitae
- a prospectus giving a detailed outline of the book (usually three to eight pages)
- a sample chapter (optional)
We will attempt to give you an initial response within six weeks.
Note: We do not return materials unless you provide a prepaid return envelope. Please do not send any irreplaceable materials.

EXAMINATION COPY POLICY
Up to three paperback editions of Fordham Press titles per semester will be available to professors at a cost of only $7.50 per book to cover shipping and handling, regardless of the price of the book.
Examination copies of some hardcover books are available at a 30% discount. If you are interested in a hardcover edition, please call 718-817-4780 for confirmation of price and availability.
To obtain an examination copy, please submit your request in writing, using your academic letterhead, and provide us with your name, shipping address (no P.O. box numbers), contact telephone number or email, course name and season, and anticipated enrollment.
All examination copy orders must be pre-paid. We accepts checks or credit cards (American Express, Mastercard, Visa). Please make checks out to Fordham Press. Orders may be mailed to the address below. Alternatively, credit card orders may be sent via fax to 718-817-4785. Fordham Press reserves the right to limit the number of books sent to an individual in a year and may limit the quantity of examination copies distributed of a particular title. Books purchased at this low price are not returnable.

DESK COPY POLICY
Fordham Press offers desk copies free of charge to professors who have adopted a text as required reading for a course. To obtain a desk copy, please submit your request on academic letterhead, and provide us with your name, shipping address (no P.O. box numbers), contact telephone number or email, course name and season, enrollment, and the name of the bookstore that has ordered the text.
